Hart Road Runners turned out in force on home turf for the Fleet 5K and 10K on Sunday morning, with 25 club runners crossing the finish line across the two distances.
Organised by Fleet & Crookham AC, the popular local event provided plenty of opportunities for fast times, competitive racing and some impressive age-category results.

Leading the HRR contingent was Alexa King, who produced a superb 39:24, finishing fifth female overall and second in the women’s 40–49 category.
Ruth Briggs delivered another standout performance, clocking 42:13 to finish eighth female overall and win the women’s 50–59 category.
David Hicks was the first HRR man home in 44:26, followed by John Leonard in 45:15 and Martin Greenwood in 45:30.
John secured fifth place in the men’s 60–69 category, while Simon Rimmer, finishing in 46:42, placed seventh in the same category.
There were further strong performances from Charlotte Howard, ninth in her category, and Lisa Chart, tenth (note this placing differs the official results due to a male runner taking a female entry).
It was also great to see our more experienced runners flying the HRR flag, including Julie Leppard achieving a fantastic 2nd in the women’s 70+ category, and John Southgate competing in the men’s 70+ category.

The shorter distance saw nine HRR runners take on the 5K, with several excellent performances and age-category podium places.
Nathan Thompson led the club home in 19:35, finishing 25th overall and eighth in the men’s 20–39 category.
Just behind him was Paul Burger, who broke the 20-minute barrier with 19:57, securing first place in the men’s 50–59 category.
Joshua Mills followed closely in 20:01, completing a strong trio of leading HRR performances.
Sarah Cleland was the first HRR woman home, running an impressive 20:23 to finish seventh female overall and second in the women’s 40–49 category.
There was another category podium for Helen Hart, whose 23:34 earned her second place in the women’s 50–59 category.
Hannah Hall also had a strong run, finishing in 25:03 and taking fifth in the women’s 40–49 category.
Karen Hunt completed an impressive trio of women’s podium performances, taking third in the women’s 50–59 category with 25:32.
Nick Emmett finished in 21:32, while Tasha Blakey rounded out the HRR 5K finishers in 28:54, placing fifth in the women’s 20–39 category.
