Hospice to Hospice Run 18th May 2019

This year the Hospice to Hospice run is on 18th May has been set so please put this date in your diary!

This is a great opportunity to have fun running with fellow club members and friends whilst raising money for two worthy causes, with delicious cake at the end. What could be better?!

Every year the club supports World Hospice Day by running from The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice to the Chase ‘Shooting Star’s’ Hospice just south of Guildford, along the beautiful North Downs Way. This is a really worthy cause to raise money for these hospices, who rely on donations to fund their work of supporting and caring for the terminally ill and their families. Any donation will be greatly received.

It’s about 11 miles and the course is marked (with flour) although it is very easy to follow and there are peer led running groups so no one will be left behind! The start is at Phyllis Tuckwell in Farnham (10.00am for a 10.30 start) and there will be somewhere to park your car. The finish is at the Chase Hospice at Artington on the A3100 south of Guildford (where you could have pre- positioned your car in the ‘Park and Ride’ carpark by their front gate. Runners are expected to organise their own lifts but hopefully people can car share to get back to the start to collect their cars.

Ali Wigg normally provides exceptional tea and cakes at the finish, and all we ask is for a minimum of a £10 donation, which all goes to the two hospices. There is a refreshment stop at the (approx.) half way point with refreshments and assistance at Puttenham where the route crosses the B3000. Please support this event and enjoy a beautiful run across the North Downs Way. Anyone interested or requiring further information is asked to contact Nigel at hrrinformation@gmail.com
