Monthly Member Spotlight!

We’re excited to introduce a new HRR Member Spotlight!

With lots of lovely new members joining us, alongside so many wonderful members who have been part of HRR for years, we thought it would be a great way to get to know each other a little better.

Every fortnight, we’ll shine the spotlight on one of our members, finding out a little about their running journey, what they love about running, their favourite distances, challenges and goals β€” and, of course, what keeps them motivated.

Whether you’ve been with HRR for a few weeks or many years, everyone has their own running story to tell.

And who better to kick off our first Member Spotlight than Simon Rimmer!

Hart Road Runners Member Spotlight: Simon Rimmer

“My religion is park run.”

What first got you into running?
The hotel I was working for in Windsor was approached to see if anyone wanted to run The Windsor half marathon and I decided to give it a go back in 1983.

What do you love most about it?
The feel good factor after completing a run.

Favourite distance or type of run?
My religion is park run so 5k, but having said that I must love half marathons as I’ve done over 60 of them.

Biggest challenge so far?
An attempt at an Ultra – The Highland Fling. Poorly prepared it’s still unfinished business!

Next running goal?
To keep going until I’m a 100!

What keeps you motivated?
My wonderful running club (The Hart Road Runners). They motivate me, being great friends too, with laughter and smiles along the way.

Proud to be HRR β™₯
